This how we gather support for each other and stimulate progress. Conversations are the currency for change.

16:40 – Founder of and Jason had coffee once and Doug Smith puts out a newsletter where recently he talks about the word “discussion” and the word “dialogue”. Discussion is a Latin word meaning to shake or smash apart. This means a debate or who is going to win. The word dialogue is a Greek word meaning, meaning flowing through. Or two people coming together to build a pool of shared meaning.

23:10 – A high-level discussion of how people may come to meetings with the spirit of dialogue vs discussion. Take advantage of the wisdom of the crowd to win together. We understand that we differ and actually listen to understand and value others to find agreement, then we can find the solution we need. This is self-fulfilling because it also teaches and flexes the muscles with the spirit of coming together to grow and achieve things together.

27:45 – How do we think about having these impactful meetings, shared meaning and vision is at the heart of this not debate. How we communicate, how we develop matters. These conversations is so important for organizations and team members to be able to work together and grow. Over the next years to come, our places of work will help us learn how to engage our hearts and minds in dialogue. This creates shared meaning and a vision forward to help us raise the bar and on our own actions in the world.

  3. How are you intentionally and strategically engage your people to have them meeting together in person, when will you do those remotely, and when hybrid?
