Kiva Cofounder, Longtime Starbucks President and More Speaking at Thermostat Cultures Live

Globally celebrated author, speaker and leadership coach Jason Barger is hosting the third annual Thermostat Cultures Live event in Columbus this fall featuring Kiva Cofounder Jessica Jackley, longtime Starbucks President Howard Behar, one-time number-one NBA draft pick Greg Oden and restaurateur Cameron Mitchell.

The intimate retreat, which is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at The Wells Barn at Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, is an engaging day for leaders and change agents who are passionate about authentic leadership, meaningful connection and building compelling cultures. It includes conversations with national thought leaders, interactive discussions with guests and more.

Thermostat Cultures Live speakers will include Jason and others:

  • Jessica Jackley: Jackley is Cofounder of Kiva, the world’s first and largest micro-lending platform, which has facilitated more than $1.3B in loans since its founding and mobilized millions to have a global social impact. She is now Chief Impact Officer at Aspiration, a financial firm that helps people use their resources ethically and sustainably.
  • Howard Behar: Behar is an author, speaker and now-retired longtime Starbucks president who led the company from 28 stores to more than 15,000 stores spanning five continents. He has written It’s Not About The Coffee and The Magic Cup and travels the world influencing thousands.
  • Greg Oden: Oden is one of only 73 people in the world who know what it feels like to be the number-one pick in the NBA draft. He was a high school All-American who later helped Ohio State reach the National Championship, where they finished as runners up. He spent five seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers.
  • Cameron Mitchell: Mitchell is Founder and CEO of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, which includes 16 concepts in 12 states. A successful entrepreneur, culinary expert and nationally celebrated restaurateur, he has been honored several times over, including as one of 50 New Taste Makers by Nation’s Restaurant News.

Barger, a Columbus native, travels worldwide giving keynote addresses focused on his latest book, Thermostat Cultures. With a series of powerful stories and insights, the book makes intentional culture creation an approachable concept that is not a luxury but a necessity. Thermostat Cultures Live has sold out the past two years to guests from Chicago to Los Angeles.

“The world’s best leaders—in business, in nonprofits, in athletics and in every other arena—are trying to create winning cultures,” Barger said. “This retreat will give them insights and tools to build those winning cultures. People tell us they leave inspired, and that’s exactly what we will deliver again—insight and inspiration.”

Seating for the event is limited. Tickets start at $695 at ThermostatCulturesLive.com.
